What is BarCamp Cyberjaya?

BarCamp Cyberjaya is an international network of user-generated unconferences that is primarily focused around technology and the web.

Unlike typical conferences, BarCamp is a more interactive and innovative unconference. Participants in BarCamp are encouraged to propose any topics that they would like to share, as well as vote for the topics that they would like to participate in.

Fierosta – club and society-focused exhibition under BarCamp Cyberjaya 2025, bringing together student communities from MMU and universities across Malaysia.

The exhibition features both internal and external clubs and societies, offering them the opportunity to promote their communities, events, and initiatives. goal is to create a strong platform for collaboration, networking, and shared learning among the PDTI community

Through this initiative, we aim to encourage students to take the lead in building a more connected and vibrant tech ecosystem — exploring opportunities beyond the classroom while gaining valuable insights from industry speakers and fellow communities.

FAQs

What do I have to prepare for this event?

Bring your curiosity and spirit of sharing to Barcamp Cyberjaya! Slides and a laptop are pretty common; some make props, and others simply come with markers and a storyline in their heads. And of course, make sure you click the “Sign Up” button on this website and fill in the details!

Is it necessary for me to present a topic during BarCamp?

A BarCamp is as interesting and informative as the people who come to make it. Not sure if your topic is interesting? The crowd will tell you through their votes. Not sure if you’re a good presenter? Doesn’t matter – the crowd will decide with their feet. It’s an excellent, honest learning experience for first-time presenters! The short answer’s no – it’s not compulsory. But it’s highly encouraged.

Is there any entry fee?

No, it is free. We do not collect any entry fee from participants for this event!

Will there by any car parking available in this event?

Yes, if your mode of transport is by your own personal car, we have made the necessary arrangements to ensure that all visitors will be able to park their cars within the university.

Can I leave an ongoing session halfway and join another?

Yes of course you can! We would like to stress that on the day of the event you get to VOTE WITH YOUR FEET, meaning you can either enter or leave a hall anytime you please to join another topic you may find interesting as well!

Can I get i-Cadet Points For Joining This Event? (Only For MMU Student)

Yes, you can! Just make sure to fill in your student ID and email in the Luma registration form to be eligible for i-Cadet points.

How do I Propose a Topic in BarCamp?

You may pledge your topic here or click the “Pledge A Topic” button on the website! On the day of the event, you will be provided with materials to write down the name of your topic. After that, you may paste it on our designated board in the Main Venue (Second floor of FCI building), where other participants will be able to vote for your topics.

Can I Propose More Than One Topic in BarCamp?

Sure! However, you can only propose a maximum of one topic in each category, which totals up to 3 topics. Only the highest-voted topic would be assigned to rooms.

How do I know if my topic is getting into the slots of BarCamp Cyberjaya?

At 12:45 pm, the votes will be counted for all proposed topics. And once the topics and slots have been confirmed, we will call for all speakers to check the time slots and room number so that everyone will be well informed on the topics which were voted for.

My topic was selected, and a slot has been allocated for me, but I cannot make it to the time slot. What should I do?

Let us know at the registration counter! We would make our best effort to arrange another time slot for you.
